Dawn was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the New Year’s 2010 Honours List for her outstanding work in developing Medical Tattooing as a service to healthcare.
Dawn is an Expert Witness for cases in which treatments or procedures have not
reached the client’s/patient’s expectations.
- Eyeliner tattooed too deeply resulting in pigment that has migrated down the cheek.
- Lipline tattooed too high above the client’s natural shape.
- Eyebrows tattooed with incorrect pigment colour which eventually turn blue or orange.
Also assessment of surgical or accident trauma that has changed a person’s body
image and if their appearance can be improved how this can be achieved.
Dawn trained as an Expert Witness with Bond Solon in 2005. She attends courses
to keep up-to-date with continuing changes. She can be found on the National

Dawn’s office is based in her home town of Retford, North Nottinghamshire,
where she continues to both teach and run her private practice. Her company,
Micropigmentation Training and Equipment Centre Limited (M.T.E.C. Ltd), is UK
distributor for the Mei-Cha range of machines & accessories and Microcolor
pigments. As International Trainer for Mei-Cha, Dawn has traveled extensively to
various countries including America, Russia, Kazakhstan, Israel, Lebanon, Ukraine
and South Africa.
Dawn has written for several publications including The Scar Book 2017, Chapter 21 ‘Medical Tattooing’.
